**Happy Red Ribbon Week! Each healthy and positive choice you make is like a positive piece to a puzzle that strengthens your future. For this week, SHINE Peer Leadership has planned several fun activities:
Informational Table - Stop by during lunch periods for treats, prizes, and information about living drug free!
Positivity Puzzle Banner - Add your piece to our “Positivity Puzzle” by coloring in a puzzle piece with an encouraging message. You’ll find it in the East Building Courtyard.
Hidden Red Ribbons - Keep your eyes open! Red Ribbons are hidden around the school. If you find one, bring it to the Guidance Office to claim a treat!

**Student council will be hosting a bonfire for all EAWR students tomorrow October 29th from 6:30-8:30pm out on the Oiler Nation patio near the concession stand. There will be food, drinks, and activities and the event is FREE. Only EAWR students may attend.

****Halloween is on Friday the 31st and students are encouraged to wear orange and black to school that day--reminder it is a half day. Please note that students are not allowed to dress in costumes, wear face paint or wear costume masks.

**Seniors: Friday the 31st is a half day and we are sponsoring a community service opportunity for seniors only. We will be working on a project for the local Veteran’s Hospital from 11:30-2:30 in the Courtyard. We will provide pizza for lunch and all supplies. If you are interested in earning 3 hours of community service please sign up in the google doc emailed to you by Mrs Robinson.

**Save the date! The annual College and Career Night will be November 6 from 5-7 in the Memorial Gym. We will have college, vocational, workforce, and military representatives available to talk to you and your family. This can help you explore options for the future.

**EAWR has partnered with Toys for Tots. Donation boxes are located outside the Main Office and in the East Building Courtyard if you would like to donate a toy for a child.

EAWR Student Council sponsored a pumpkin painting party for students after school today. All the students that participated had a great time and the pumpkins have been entered into a contest for students/staff to vote for their favorite.

EAWR is hosting a College and Career Night Thursday, November 6th from 5-7 pm for all EAWR students/parents and other local high school students/parents in the Memorial Gym. There will be different colleges/universities, branches of the military, and business representatives. There will also be some attendance drawings for students.

**Student council will be hosting a pumpkin painting party today immediately after school in the East Building courtyard. Student council will be hosting a bonfire for all EAWR students on October 29th from 6:30-8:30pm out on the Oiler Nation patio near the concession stand. There will be food, drinks, and activities and the event is FREE. Only EAWR students may attend.

**Lifetouch will be here today from 7:30-11:15 am for Picture Retake Day. Students, faculty, and staff who did not get pictures taken in September, please take time to go to the auditorium for retakes. Also, if you are unhappy with the photos from our first picture day, this is your opportunity to get new ones. Order forms are available in the Main Office.

**The next senior mentor meeting is today during academic lab in room E121.

**Student council’s fall Blood Drive is today. If you are 16 or older and would like to donate, contact Mr. Daniels or Mrs. Timmins.

**Booster Club is needing volunteers to help with concessions at tonight's football game from 6:30-9. Please sign up in the document shared by Mrs Robinson if you want to volunteer.

**The WR VFW is looking for volunteers this Saturday, October 25th starting at noon to help bag toys for the Toys for Tots Program. If you would like to volunteer please bring a community service paper with you to the event and those are located outside of the Guidance Office. The WR VFW is located on Edwardsville Road diagonal from the EAWR Softball Field.

**JFL is looking for a few volunteers for this Sunday's game October 26th from 10 am-2 pm to help with concessions. If you would like to volunteer please email Mrs Robinson with the hours you can work.

Wednesday, October 22nd

**Wood River Ave is closed until further notice due to construction. The entrance to our parking lot from Wood River Ave is closed. Please take an alternate route to/from school.

**Men’s basketball players: Open Gym practice is scheduled for tonight at 5 PM. Report to the track for the first portion of practice, and we will head to the gym after conditioning. The season starts November 10th, so use these opportunities to prepare. Bring your outdoor shoes for conditioning, extra clothes, and a water bottle if possible. If you can’t attend, please notify the coaches. If you do not have any form of communication at home, please find Mr. Adams to communicate before the end of the day!
